2009 Fantasy Football Wide Receivers

A look at the top WRs in Fantasy Football 2009

Wide receiver depth is a good way to separate your team from the pack. There are about 10 can’t miss wide outs, and then a generous drop-off. A good way to choose receivers is to take one can’t miss WR, and look for two others that either are #1s, or #2s on a strong offensive team. The second round is the perfect opportunity to take a wide receiver such as Terrell Owens, Anquan Boldin, or Braylon Edwards.

The 1st rung of Wide Outs:

  • Larry Fitzgerald: He is primed to be even greater.

  • Andre Johnson: Good health, great numbers.

  • Randy Moss: Brady’s back and there is going to be trouble…

  • Calvin Johnson: Bad offense. Bad defense. Lions will be coming from behind with bombs.

  • Greg Jennings: Superior wide out on the rise.

  • Reggie Wayne: He will have better numbers this year.

The 2nd rung of Wide Outs:

  • Steve Smith: He banged up his shoulder. Questionable 1 st game of the season.

  • Anquan Boldin: Simply a stud in a big offense.

  • Roddy White: He is signed and his quarterback is one year older.

  • Dwayne Bowe: Matt Cassel is an upgrade. No Gonzo, will be the go to guy.

  • Marques Colston: If he can stay healthy, he will be force with Brees.

  • Terrell Owens: Still has the skills, but offense limited.

The 3rd Rung of Wide outs:

  • Brandon Marshall: Has issues

  • T.J. Houshmandzadeh: It’s Seattle but he is established.

  • Wes Welker: Great for reception points

  • Vincent Jackson: Passing game still looking good. Chris Chambers may take some stats.

  • Hines Ward: I love Hines Ward more than I should.

  • Ocho Cinco: I dislike Chad more than I should.

  • Roy Williams: Roy Williams has been over-rated for years.

  • Santonio Holmes: Pittsburgh should pass.

  • Anthony Gonzalez: Is banged up but should be good

  • Braylon Edwards: What is the deal with this guy?

  • Bernard Berrian: I like Minnesota’s first five games.

  • DeSean Jackson: The Eagles are a great passing team.

  • Eddie Royal: May be lead receiver if Brandon Marshall can’t get it together.

The barrel:

  • Jerricho Cotchery: The Jets #1.

  • Kevin Walter: Looking solid for Houston.

  • Santana Moss: The Redskins #1.

  • Donald Driver: He still has more in the tank.

  • Lee Evans: T.O. in town may be free.

  • Lance Moore: A Saints wide out.

  • Antonio Bryant: Buyer beware.

  • Chris Chambers: Bounce back year.

  • Devin Hester: Break out with Cutler

  • Laveranues Coles: Not a fan of the Bengals.

The Bottom of the Barrel

  • Derrick Mason

  • Donald Avery

  • Torry Holt

  • Steve Breaston

  • Michael Clayton

Wide Receivers are like stocks during the preseason.
