2010 Fantasy Football Week 1 Recap

So, there were a lot of interesting things that happened this week. Of course the most was Arian Fosters CRAZY game that vaulted the Texans over the Colts. He had 231 yards, and 3 TDs. I know a lot of people were only starting him because of injuries or because their draft sucked, but if you did, congratulations on your week one win. The only problem here is that the Texans will live and die by the passing attack, so don’t take this game highly, the only reason he was running so much is to get time off the clock.

I’ll go ahead and include the crazy QB section here, Manning and Bradford both threw 50 something passes, and of course Manning was the more valuable guy, but their attack was not stable enough. Wayne was his usual self, Garcon looked horrible and Gonzalez was hurt, again... Collie gets a big boost in any format. Bradford on the other hand has received a lot of endorsements after his game, and appears to be on track to be very good, if him and Mark Clayton get together again, he has a made a WR worth owning, which only good QBs do that, add him in dynasty formats.

  • The Mike Williams of the world had a good day, I support both of them as they are both the #1 WR on their respective teams, go get them as low end #2 or #3 WR.

  • Another day another dollar for Chris Johnson, is there really anything to say about him? I can add that AP and himself have expressed the want to have a 2,500 yard season… go at it boys.

  • Wes Welker is back it appears, and per usual Randy Moss is mad. Same ol, same ol here.

  • Don’t pay any attention to Mercedes Lewis’ big game; Jones-Drew is the guy in Jacksonville.

  • Dog Fighting Lord… oh sorry, I mean Michael Vick is apparently back, and if he has another good game or two Kolb will be on the hot seat for sure.

  • Ryan Grant is out for the season, this is a big deal, he’s been a top 25 player for a few years now, and Brandon Jackson is the replacement, although not as skilled as Grant, he’s the starter in a dangerous offense, get him, especially if you lost Grant.

  • Anyone who has Phillip Rivers might want to look into trading him, he was VERY frustrated, at one point even kicking the ball towards his center, and with only one real for sure option he may be in trouble.

  • On the other hand, Kansas City looked really good, their D Line was very impressive, and their special teams destroyed San Diego… They are using Charles and Thomas in a way similar to having a soft tossing lefty to start a baseball game, and then putting in the hard throwing right hander in to close it, it was effective.

  • I’m not talking about the bad call on Calvin Johnson’s TD Catch because it cost me a win, very mad about it.

  • If you were trying to win the lottery with Chicago WR, Aromashouda looks like THE guy, the most targets and if it wasn’t for a few drops, he would be a must start heading into week 2. Also, go get Matt Forte, he looks ready to go crazy.

  • Chad Ochocino(I hate his name) and Palmer looked like their old selves, own at your own risk in my opinion.

  • Steve Breaston looks like the safest guy to own right now out of Arizona, he was targeted 7 times, and caught all seven balls, for 132 yards I believe.

  • Anquan Boldin will be on the top 5 WR list next year, heard it here first; he is finally highlighted in an offense and ready to shine.

Well, that’s about it gamers, thanks for reading!
