2008 Fantasy Football Week 11 Waiver Wire Report

 Add to My Yahoo!

Each week Pro Football Fans will be bringing you all our waiver wire report where we identify players who are more likely to be available using your waiver position to add to your team. While we can't be sure that individuals will be available in your league, you can use this as a guide for all of your fantasy football decision-making as you work toward a fantasy football league championship.

Justin Gage WR (Titans): There were still a few leagues that have Gage un-ownded. He is the top receiver in Tennessee and teams are going to continue to force the Titans to beat them through the air. That all adds up to better numbers for Gage. Gage is a decent play in deep leagues as a WR3/flex.

Shaun Hill QB (49ers): Hill was excellent this week against St. Louis. That may or may not mean much going forward. The 49ers are going to continue to be very committed to the run, and Hill is no superstar anyway. So, I would only consider him if there are very few other options and you are desperate.

Pierre Thomas RB (Saints): Thomas got sixteen carries and also caught four passes. Thomas should continue to get a decent number of touches until Bush gets back. Thomas is a solid bet as a flex play this week going against a very weak Packers run defense.

Peyton Hillis RB (Broncos): Hillis is probably not available in most leagues, but he is still out there in a few. Hillis is a great bet to put up decent numbers week to week for now. Hillis is a great receiver and he is getting carries as Denver’s running core is depleted to just him. Hillis is not spectacular, but he will be solid. He is a good play versus weaker defenses as a Flex/RB2 in weaker leagues.

Jabar Gaffney WR (Patriots): Gaffney had a very good game on Thursday against the Jets. The Pats get another solid match-up this week against the Dolphins. The Dolphins are solid against the run, and they are likely to continue to throw the ball more than usual this week. Gaffney is their third receiver, but he is still an okay play as a WR3/Flex play in deeper leagues if you have a weak spot.

Jerome Harrison RB (Browns): Harrison got most of his points off of one big play. He is the Browns home run hitter, and he may get a few more touches after his Monday night performance. However, Harrison is still at best a watch and see player. He is going to have to prove he deserves and will get more carries from the Browns.

Leon Washington RB (Jets): Washington is not available in about half of fantasy leagues. He had another big week this week against New England. The Jets have a specific package for Washington, and he is a big play guy who should get more opportunities from here on out. Washington is a decent play as a flex play, but he will not have that kind of week every week. Washington is going to be very similar in fantasy as he is to the Jets. He will be a big play guy from week to week but not overall, owners just have to hope they get his big weeks.

Ahman Green RB (Texans): Green got all his points off of basically two TD’s. Green is not going to be a great play going forward as Slaton has control of the RB position in Houston. He may have another week where he gets in the end zone, but it is not worth worrying about.

Daunte Culpepper QB (Lions): Culpepper looked better this week, at least in fantasy circles. Much like Shaun Hill he is not worth worrying about too much for the rest of this season. I would prefer Hill above Culpepper if that helps to clarify Culpepper’s value.

Ben Watson TE (Pats): Another receiver who benefited from the Pats big passing night. Watson has the talent to be outstanding if given the opportunity. Unfortunately, Watson seems to not be one of Matt Cassel’s early targets, and he will probably be hit or miss week to week.

T.J. Duckett RB (Seahawks): Duckett had a very similar week to Ahman Green. He may be a slightly greater factor than Green, but there is no reason to get overly excited about him.
