2008 Fantasy Football Week 13 Waiver Wire ReportEach week Pro Football Fans will be bringing you all our waiver wire report where we identify players who are more likely to be available using your waiver position to add to your team. While we can't be sure that individuals will be available in your league, you can use this as a guide for all of your fantasy football decision-making as you work toward a fantasy football league championship.
Mark Clayton WR (Ravens): Clayton had a great week, as did the entire Ravens offense, this week against the Bengals. Clayton has scored in each of the last two weeks, but this week he added a 164 yards receiving. Clayton is the biggest deep threat for the Ravens. Clayton will continue to be a flex play if the Ravens offense continues to roll, mainly because the Ravens have few other targets. Joe Flacco QB (Ravens): Flacco has been pretty solid all year. This week Flacco was superb. Flacco is only a pickup if you are in dire need of a QB. Derrick Mason WR (Ravens): As the Ravens waiver wire continues there is another WR in Mason. Mason has been the top WR for the Ravens all season. He had another solid week, in the week that the Ravens went off offensively. Mason continues as a solid WR 2 in deep leagues, especially if Flacco continues to play this well. Amani Toomer WR (Giants): Toomer stepped up in the absence of Plaxico Burress this week. However, he has to do a better job of maximizing his opportunities. Toomer caught only five balls out of his nine times targeted. Toomer is likely to be the top target for Eli Manning as long as Plaxico continues to miss games. Isaac Bruce WR (49ers): Bruce had a solid game this week as the 49ers upset the Bills in Buffalo. The 49ers have been better recently, but I would not get too excited about this week. The 49ers are likely to be very erratic for the remainder of the year, and I would only grab Bruce if you are desperate for help at WR in a deep league.
Sammy Morris/Kevin Faulk RB (Pats): Both Faulk and Morris had good weeks despite the stout Steelers defense. Faulk had 121 yards of total offense on just 13 touches. He should continue to get his chances from here on out. Faulk is a solid Flex play option in most leagues. Morris had just 57 yards, but he got into the end zone. Morris scoring is another trend that is likely to continue from here on out as well. Morris is an okay flex play in deep leagues, but I like Faulk more. Chester Taylor RB (Vikings): Taylor had a solid week against the Bears after scoring against Jacksonville. Taylor is not a great bet to be consistent from week to week, and I would not bother with picking him up unless you are desperate. Reggie Williams WR (Jaguars): Williams had a good night against Houston on Monday. He only caught five balls for 55 yards, and scored once. He is another player that I would not worry too much about unless he does it again. Derrick Ward RB (Giants): Ward has been a decent flex backup all season. He became a more focused part of the passing game this week with Burress out. Ward is a decent pickup as a backup in an emergency situation, especially with Burress out and Jacobs ailing. Garrett Hartley K (Saints): Hartley has been very good since the Saints picked him up. With the Saints offense’s ability to be prolific it is worth looking at Hartley if you have a weak kicker. Hartley is solid, he is going to get opportunities, and he is probably a top ten kicker in the league right now.
