2008 Fantasy Football Week 4 Recap

Cleveland Brown 20, Cincinnati Bengals 12

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • Jamal Lewis Cle - Lewis found the endzone for the first time this season. He rushed for 79 yards on 25 carries and a TD.

Runner UP

  • Chad Johnson Cin - Chad also caught his first touchdown pass of the season. Johnson caught 3 balls for 28 yards and a TD.

 

Jacksonville Jaguars 30, Houston Texans 27 - OT

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • Matt Schaub Hou - Schaub threw for 307 yards and 3 TDs against the Jaguars. He hooked up with WR Kevin Walter for 2 of the 3 touchdowns.

Runner Up

  • Kevin Walter Hou - Walter caught 8 passes for 76 yards and 2 TDs. Andre Johnson is attracting most of the attention of opposing defenses, leaving Walter and Owen Daniels free to roam.

 

Carolina Panthers 24, Atlanta Falcons 9

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • Muhsin Muhammad Car - Muhammad is the Panthers all-time leader in pass receptions. He added to his total on Sunday with 8 catches for 147 yards and a TD.

Runner Up

  • Steve Smith Car - Smith caught 6 balls for 96 yards and a TD. After catching his 56-yard touchdown pass, he gave the ball to Ken Lucas, the teammate who he punched during pre-season.

Kansas City Chiefs 33, Denver Broncos 19

Fantasy Bust of the Game

  • Larry Johnson KC - Larry Johnson turned back the clock on Sunday, looking like the Johnson of old with 198 yards, including 2 TDs. Johnson was concerned with his workload prior to the game, but on Sunday he carried the ball 28 times and caught the ball 5 times.

Runners Up

  • Brandon Marshall Den - Marshall had another big game for the Broncos. He caught 7 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown.

 

New Orleans Saints 31, San Francisco 49ers 17

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • Drew Brees NO - Brees threw for 363 yards and 3 TDs. With his top 2 targets injured in Colston and Shockey, Brees completed passes to 9 different receivers in route to the Saints 2 nd victory of the season.

Runner Up

  • Lance Moore NO - Lance Moore is developing into Drew Brees’ favorite receiver. This is his second straight game with 7 receptions. He totaled 101 yards and 2 touchdowns.

 

New York Jets 56, Arizona Cardinals 35

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • Brett Favre NYJ - Favre threw for a career high 6 touchdown passes against the Cardinals. He was questionable for the game, but its going to take more than an ankle to stop Brett Favre.

Runner Up

  • Laveranues Coles NYJ - Coles caught 8 passes for 105 yards and 3 touchdowns. He caught all of his touchdowns in the 2nd quarter.

 

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30, Green Bay Packers 21

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • Greg Jennings GB - Jennings leads the lead in receiving with 482 yards. He caught 6 balls for 109 yards and 2 TDs.

Runner Up

  • Earnest Graham TB - Graham followed up an awful Week 3 with a 111-yard performance and a TD. Graham has been getting it done for the Bucs, even if its through 60-yard runs, or 1-yard TD plunges.

 

Tennessee Titans 30, Minnesota Vikings 17

Fantasy Player of the Week

  • Adrian Peterson Min - Peterson scored 2 TDs on Sunday. He rushed for 80 yards on 18 carries, and also caught 4 passes for 21 yards.

Runner Up

  • Chris Johnson Ten - Chris Johnson finally saw a goaline carry, which came on one of his 2 TDs against the Vikings. Johnson rushed for 61 yards on 17 carries.

 

San Diego Chargers 28, Oakland Raiders 18

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • LaDainian Tomlinson SD - Tomlinson rushed for 106 yards on 20 rushes and 2 TDs. He capped his performance with a 41-yard TD run with less than 2 minutes left in the game

Runner Up

  • Zach Miller Oak - Miller caught 5 passes for 95 yards and a TD. The Raiders tight end is developing into Jamarcus Russell’s favorite target.

 

Buffalo Bills 32, St. Louis 14

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • Stephen Jackson Stl - Jackson rushed for 110 yards and a TD, along with 5 receptions for 78 yards. This was Jackson’s first 100-yard game of the season.

Runner Up

  • Lee Evans Buf - Lee Evans only caught 2 passes, but he made them both count. Evans caught a 39-yard touchdown in the 4 th quarter, followed by a 2pt conversion. He also caught a 49-yard pass from Trent Edwards.

 

Washington Redskins 26, Dallas Cowboys 24

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • Santana Moss Was - Moss caught 8 balls for 145 yards. Moss is second to Greg Jennings in receiving with 421 yards.

Runner Up

  • Clinton Portis Was - Portis had another big game for the Redskins. He rushed for 121 yards on 21 carries, and also caught 2 passes for 14 yards. This was Portis’ first 100-yard game of the season.

 

Chicago Bears 24, Philadelphia Eagles 20

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • Kyle Orton Chi - Orton threw for 3 TD passes on Sunday night. The Chicago QB totaled 199 yards, going 18-34.

Runner Up

  • DeSean Jackson Phi - Jackson caught 5 passes for 71 yards and a TD. Jackson played very well until he fumbled a punt, which seemed to shake his confidence.

 

Pittsburgh Steelers 23, Baltimore Ravens 20

Fantasy Player of the Game

  • Santonio Holmes Pit - The Pittsburgh offense was quiet until Ben Roethlisberger found Santonio Holmes for a 38-yard TD. Holmes finished with 3 receptions for 61 yards and a TD.

Runner Up

  • LeRon McClain Bal - McClain rushed for 63 yards on 16 carries and a TD. Willis McGahee left the game, and McClain stepped up for the Ravens. With McGahee banged up, McClain should see an increased workload.

 

NFL Fantasy Players of the Week

  • Gold – Brett Favre NYJ: Career high 6 TD passes. Favre shredded the Cardinals and is getting more accustomed to the Jets offense.
  • Silver – Larry Johnson KC: Johnson rushed for 198 yards and 2 TDs. LJ dominated the Broncos D and helped knock them off their undefeated pedistal.
  • Bronze – Laveranues Coles NYJ: Coles benefited from Brett Favre’s career day. He hauled in 3 TD passes and totaled 105 yards.
