Week five post-Brady. Aaron Rodgers claims the first spot for the first time. He should be an excellent play against a bad Seattle defense. Especially with another week to get that shoulder back in shape. Jason Campbell took the biggest jump going all the way up to number two. The move is due in no small part to playing St. Louis, but Campbell has been great lately. Brett Favre is back in the top five after his bye week that followed his six TD performance during week four. Favre should be excellent again, this time against the Bengals. Gus Frerotte is the big sleeper this week, mainly again due to his opponent. He goes against a Lions defense that just gave up 34 to Kyle Orton and the Bears. The Vikes have Peterson and Frerotte can throw the deep ball, which should equal a very good work. Also worth keeping an eye on Marc Bulger to see if he can get anything going after the coaching switch, he is a sleeper in deep leagues.

Clinton Portis is an excellent play this week, coming off two strong weeks and playing on a team that seems to be breaking out offensively. Ronnie Brown should have a good week against the Texans, but do not expect a repeat of week four. Le’Ron McClain is a big-time sleeper this week against a very weak Colts run defense. Fred Taylor takes the biggest jump this week and is a must play, even at RB1, because he should get in the end zone a time or two against the Broncos weak defense.

- Bobby Engram (Seahawks)
- Antwaan Randle El (Redskins)
- Bobby Wade (Vikings)
The top ten is the same as last week. You really cannot go wrong with any player in the top twenty or so. I really like Steve Breaston to have another good week against a week Cowboys secondary that will have to double Larry Fitzgerald. That double coverage should open up the deep ball for Breaston. The top five guy with the biggest upside this week is Greg Jennings, who should have another big week against the weak Seahawks. Jennings is making a strong case to be the permanent number one fantasy receiver regardless of match-up. Bobby Wade is a good sleeper this week as Frerotte’s favorite deep threat against the weak Lions.
Tight Ends
- Jason Witten (Cowboys)
- Antonio Gates (Chargers)
- Chris Cooley (Redskins)
- Tony Gonzalez (Chiefs) BYE
- Kellen Winslow (Browns)
- Owen Daniels (Texans)

- Billy Miller (Saints)
- Ben Watson (Pats)
- Alge Crumpler (Titans) BYE
- Kevin Boss (Giants)
- Donte Rosario (Panthers)
- Randy McMichael (Rams)
Pretty much the same at the top, with the exception of Chris Cooley, another Redskin, jumping up to number three. The big sleeper this week is Zach Miller who is a good play against the weak Saints defense. I also like John Carlson against the Packers who tend to struggle covering TE, a weakness Hassleback is sure to exploit.
Kickers
- Nick Folk (Cowboys)
- Mason Crosby (Packers)
- Rian Lindell (Bills) BYE
- Nate Kaeding (Chargers)
- Matt Bryant (Bucs)

- Ryan Longwell (Vikings)
- Jason Hanson (Lions)
- Phil Dawson (Browns)
- Shaun Suisham (Redskins)
- Shayne Graham (Bengals)
- Sebastian Janikowski (Raiders)
Kickers are all about the same at the end of the year, so it comes down to a week-by-week match up question. My favorite kicker to jump up this week is John Kasay who should get plenty of chances this week against Tampa Bay, and has been as solid this season as any kicker in the league.

Defenses change week to week more than anything else in fantasy football. The Giants should have another excellent week in what may be an upset game for them, but should be low scoring if it turns into that type of game. Washington is the big sleeper this week against the terrible Rams, but I would not be shocked if Bulger has a bit of a breakout this week, worth keeping in mind. I like the Bears defense a lot again this week, and the Jets as well. Both are especially good bets if your league counts special teams.
