The Greatest Ever… (Is never duplicated often imitated)
Over this past weekend we had the Hall of Fame ceremony in Canton, Ohio and many say it could be the greatest HOF class ever and I completely agree. There are many great players that were inducted this year from Floyd Little to Dick Lebeau, Russ Grimm to John Randle and they each one deserved every accolade that was given. These were some of the most amazing players of there time and at there position, this was definitely a special class but there were even more players to join this class.
Emmitt Smith was an amazing running back for the Dallas Cowboys. Smith did everything for Dallas from getting the tough yards running the ball to catching the ball out of the back field and making the big play. Emmitt not only redefined the running back position but he is the gold standard at that position. He was not blessed with incredible speed and he was not the biggest back but his passion to win and his purpose driven running changed the game. There have been many debates on who the greatest running back in the NFL is all-time, from Jim Brown to O.J. Simpson there have been many names thrown around but the one constant is Emmitt Smith he has not only the records but also the rings. Emmitt Smith is a true player and a consummate professional on and off the field, congratulations Emmitt on your induction into the Hall of Fame
Jerry Rice came from a small college in Mississippi, not highly sought out and not really pursued by many NFL teams, Rice quickly made a name for himself. Rice was the hardest worker on the field (not in the game but in practice) there was a story that he would catch the ball in practice at the 20 yard line and run it all the way down the field to the goal line, he would catch the ball at the 40 yard line and do the same, when the coach was asked how long he made Rice do that the coach replied, I didn’t make him do it he does it on his own and he has done it since he has been here. Rice’s work ethic was contagious, he strived to be the best and he achieved that; he is and was the best wide receiver in the NFL ever. Rice has redefined the wide receiver position, with his ability to run precise routes, with his incredible hands and his great quickness; Jerry Rice truly is the best ever at his position and we want to say congratulations on your induction to the Hall of Fame. Congratulations class of 2010 you are definitely all worthy of the Hall of Fame inductions. For years to come each of you will be imitated but never duplicated.
