Let it be known right off the bat, I am a Tennessee Volunteer and I passionately dislike a certain team down south, but also let it be known that I highly respect Tim Tebow and his stance with his beliefs. Tim Tebow gave the Florida Gators identity; he put a face to that college football team and led with his example. Plain and simple Tim Tebow is a football player, he makes plays and all he does and has done is win. In college he led the Florida Gators to two national championships and he himself won the Heisman trophy and had a chance to win another in his senior season. The amazing thing about Tebow is he has never waivered from his beliefs, he has stood firm, amidst the pressure of becoming a successful college quarterback he has stood the test of time. One of the greatest things said about Tebow in his time with the Florida Gators is about his leadership and if you have heard him speak or play you understand why, he demands the best out of his team and he demands the best from himself. So when his senior season came to an end in stunning fashion with a pounding of the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Sugar Bowl, everyone was wondering ‘can he go to the next level?’

There have been many questions about Tebow’s ability to play as an NFL quarterback. Many have to do with his arm strength, his long throwing motion, and his lack of taking snaps from under the center. Many draft experts saw him as the 4th ranked quarterback behind names like: Bradford, Clausen, and McCoy but where does he fit in Denver? We know that his strengths are leadership ability and decision making, he has the ability to make something happen when there is nothing there but can he do that in the NFL, where defenses’ are faster and stronger. I see Tebow in Denver as the quarterback that is looking to run a wildcat type offense, just look at Pat White the highly successful quarterback out of West Virginia he was drafted by the Miami Dolphins specifically to give a different look to there wildcat offense.

Fact is Tebow has talent, lots of talent and under the right system (don’t know if it is Denver) he can be more than any one ever dreamed but he must be willing to put in the work. I think he can be successful at the next level, I believe that he will be willing to learn and he will put in the work, I see him not as an everyday starter but as a backup that can lead and be ready when his number is called. I think Tebow will have success not just because he is a talented quarterback and not just because he is a smart player, but because his faith. Tim Tebow’s faith will be what sets him apart from others why, you ask because when others say he can’t, he and his God say he can. In a day and age where it’s all about the money and super star status, for Tebow it’s all about Jesus, all day every day, and when you have God on your side the journey gets a little bit easier even for a quarterback out of the University of Florida.
