The Dolphins are coming off a disappointing loss to the Steelers. They kept it close and a controversial call could have been the difference in the game. They have established Henne as the leader of this team, letting him air it out in the past 4 contests. Carson Palmer is posting good numbers, but for the most part it has been all for nothing as the Bengals are only 2-4 at this point in the season.
This matchup could garner an interesting game as the Bengals and Dolphins were highly regarded as playoff caliber football teams prior to the season beginning. Now that its week 8 the teams have disappointed their predictors having a combined record of 5-6. The problem with the Bengals is that they often let themselves get scored on and are playing catch-up for a majority of their games. The Fins are having all sorts of problems, bad special teams play, dropped passes, and an inability to punch in the touchdown and having to settle for 3.
The Dolphins need to do what every other team has been doing to the Bengals, getting the lead early. Plagued with injuries to the defensive backfield, Henne has a chance to torch the defense that may be without its two starting corners. The Bengals need to slow things down, often flustered in past games trying to get the big play. If they take things slow and conservative, big plays can open up with time. They need to establish the run game, and let Carson take what he can get in the passing game. If this happens it will be interesting how this game ends up. I am expecting a low scoring game out of this one, just a heads up for anyone that has any of these teams’ players on their fantasy squad.
