Packers dominate Vikings, Look to keep pace with Bears

Packers hats & merchandise The Green Bay Packers utterly dominated the Minnesota Vikings 31-3 on Sunday, advancing their record to 7-3. Aaron Rodgers looked sharp, throwing for 4 touchdowns, with no interceptions. Greg Jennings was the go to reciever, with 3 of those touchdowns being thrown his way.

The Packers came out slow in the first quarter before going on, and coming alive in the 2nd, scoring two touchdowns, and taking a 17-3 lead into the half. Tramon Williams picked off a late Bratt Favre pass that led to the James Jones touchdown pass. Williams has continued to improve as a corner, and is now becoming a shut down corner for the team who already has Charles Woodson on the other side.

In the 2nd half, the Packers continued to dominate with a quick touchdown pass to Greg Jennings to crack open the lead to 24-3. The defensive side of the ball was relentless, and pressured the Minnesota front line with no signs of stoppage. Adrian Peterson was a non-factor in the game. Brett Favre was also on his back most of the game as well.

Clay Matthews picked up another sack, bringing his total to 11.5 on the season. Although his numbers haven't been huge as of late, he is constantly drawing double teams, and being held that usually isn't called. His presence is felt, and it helps the rest of the pass rushers out tremendously. Although It is unlikely he'll break the single season sacks record (unless he has a big game) he is still the league's top pass rusher.

The Packers take on the Atlanta Falcons next, in the dome. This is the battle of two top NFC teams, and could have some sort of meaning later on in the season. The Packers need to win games with the NFC North being close, as the Bears are also 7-3, and looking to take control.
