Vikings Waive Bye Bye To Randy Moss
It pains me to write this article. I’m not saddened that the Minnesota Vikings have officially waived Randy Moss; it just really saddens me that I have to give face time to one of the most selfish and immature players in the NFL. He has not only shown this to be the case about him just about every time he has opened his mouth throughout his NFL career, but he has also exuded this same kind of immature and selfish behavior on and off the field as well, everywhere he has gone. And you can quote him on that. “I play the way I want to play.”
It’s pretty pathetic that the New England Patriots only wanted a 3 rd round future pick for him in the first place, and it’s even more pathetic to know that the Minnesota Vikings have all kinds of questions at wide receiver this season, and waived him anyway. I think that speaks volumes about what people in the know in the NFL think about Randy Moss. Coaches and owners alike can attempt to put lipstick on a pig, and go up there and say all kinds of nice things about Moss, but when you’re a superstar and dealt for a third round pick, then released within a month by the team that just dealt for you, that speaks for itself.
There were questions about Moss coming into the NFL, and many teams passed on him in the draft. Moss set an NFL record in his first four years as a pro, when he accumulated 5,396 yards receiving in that time. Moss also refused to block anyone, and in many games with the Vikings, if Randy Moss knew the ball wasn’t coming to him. He wouldn’t even make a move off of the line of scrimmage. He would just selfishly stand there with his hands on his hips pouting, and watch the play evolve without him. Moss doesn’t even crack the top 50 in NFL receiving stats this season, and ended his brief return to the team that first drafted him, with 13 receptions for 174 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
Yahoo Sports and ESPN were reporting early this week that after his little rant to the media on Sunday, Moss went off on a catering company that was providing food for Vikings players. Reportedly, Moss started yelling at the caterers stating, “What the (expletive) is this? I wouldn’t feed this (expletive) to my dogs.” That was the final straw for Vikings ownership. I’m sure that some team will take a chance on him again this year, but I don’t know what team that will be, nor do I care. Moss has now gone from the Vikings to the Raiders, to the Patriots, back to the Vikings, and now to the? Who will be the next team to step up and take a chance on a clubhouse cancer like Randy Moss?

So now, lets take a look at some Randy Moss quotes and highlights, shall we?
First, lets start with a few Moss quotes.
“I think if we’d been getting me the ball earlier, we’d probably have a Super Bowl ring now. Like I said earlier, if we’d have done this since my rookie year, we’d have some jewelry around here.”
“I’ve used you know, marijuana, since I’ve been in the league.”
Now, how about some Moss Highlights?
Earlier in the season while still with the Patriots, Moss was held without a catch in a game, while the Patriots won despite this and beat the Miami Dolphins. A reporter approached Moss in the locker room, unaware of his self-imposed media silence strike, and asked him a question. Reportedly, Randy Moss freaked out on the reporter and threatened him for simply asking a question.
In 2002, Moss was charged with second-degree assault, when a woman traffic cop attempted to stop him from making an illegal u-turn with his car. Randy Moss pushed the female traffic cop with his car, ignoring her instructions, and then proceeded to drag her about a half block down the street with his car.
