Why this is the greatest game in America - The return of football

Now I don’t know about you but I am excited about the return of football. Whether it is high school, college or pro to finally have football back gets me pumped. My question is do we get this excited about the return of other sports, not often, there is just something about football that the expectation is so great, we celebrate the preseason (meaningless) games. Football just brings a special feeling in the air and it gives us something to look forward to every week.

On the college football scene watching young men fresh out of high school come to a college where they enter the bright lights and big time. To see young men turn into grown men and to feel the rush of a Saturday morning as you prepare to sit and enjoy these young men play their hearts out, not for money but for pride and their team. Now the BCS (that is for another discussion) but to see the excitement and passion of students as their team plays the rival school, there is nothing like college football.

There is just something about pro football, from all the news in the offseason, to the free agent signings, to the NFL draft there really is something special about the game. To see records challenged and players become great it is an amazing game. Why? Just remember last season, watching Chris Johnson running back for the Tennessee Titans put on a show every time he came on the field and he rushed for an incredible 2,000 yards. Remember watching Peyton Manning command that Indianapolis Colt offense as they drove up and down the field lighting up the scoreboard. Remember the New Orleans Saints, becoming America’s team as they not only took the field for themselves but they took the field for a city, really the list could go on and on.

There really is something great about watching the NFL on Sundays as you, your family, your buddies come together to enjoy a game, that has been around for ages but never seems to get old. I don’t know if you can tell but I am excited about the start of the season and we here at profootball-fans.com are excited to bring you the best coverage of the game that we love, pro football. I believe this really is the greatest game in America and I can’t wait to see what happens this NFL season.
