Who will make the biggest impact as a rookie? The truth in the NFL is that most top draft choices really do not pan out to be what many teams hope. If you look back at the past drafts many number one picks or first round picks just fall short of the expectations that most have. Maybe they were not ready for the bright lights of the NFL, maybe the NFL game was too fast for them or maybe they didn’t use their time wisely. At any rate, their careers ended with unfulfilled promise. It is always fun to sit back and guess who will make the biggest impact their rookie year in the upcoming season (if we have a season). The key is finding that rookie that can step in and make plays immediately; it takes solid dedication, focus and a passion for the game. In this article we want to look at the upcoming class of rookies and look at who could have the greatest impact on their team and in the NFL, here are our three choices:
Von Miller*LB* Denver Broncos This kid has a motor that just will not quit; he is high energy and loves to play the game of football. He was a force at Texas A&M and is a perfect fit for the Denver Broncos defense. Miller, with the solid veterans that will be around him, could learn and put in to action those things on the field and it could bring him the Rookie of the Year in the NFL.
Patrick Peterson*CB* Arizona Cardinals Most likely the best athlete in the draft this year, Peterson has all the tools to be a great player in the NFL. He can return kicks and punts, he also has a knack of making the big play on defense, and this kid is most definitely one to watch in this upcoming season.
Julio Jones*WR* Atlanta Falcons With talent and ability and the mix of an already solid playoff team, Jones could possibly set in the best position of any rookie in this class. Opposite of Roddy White and with Matt Ryan throwing him the ball, Michael Turner rushing and Tony Gonzalez getting loose underneath; Jones could possibly have a field day on Sundays. The Falcons took a chance in moving up to get Jones but the truth is you don’t move up unless you know you can get something special and Jones is just that special.
