Browns comeback to stun DolphinsAn average Colt McCoy performance improved dramatically in the last few minutes of the match. The Browns come back to snatch a 17-16 win and improve their record to 2-1 this season, the first time they have started this well in 9 years. Colt McCoy threw 210 yards for two touchdowns and one interception. The game winning drive was one of 80 yards and was finished with a 14 yard McCoy pass to Mohamed Massaquoi with just under a minute remaining. The Dolphins who desperately needed victory have slumped to 0-3 increasing the pressure on Miami coach Tony Sparano. The Dolphins did not give up without a comeback attempt and this resulted in safety Mike Adams intercepting to all but ensure a Browns victory. With only 13 seconds remaining on the game clock, the dawg pound erupted with joy and celebration and even the players could not hide their emotion. The struggling Dolphins are 0-3 and needing a victory to ease the high expectations. With some tough games coming up, it looks likely that the Dolphins may continue to struggle, form reminiscent of their NFL worst record a few seasons back
The Cleveland Browns were without Madden 12 cover star Peyton Hillis as he suffered from strep throat and was unable to play. This decision left the Browns with what seemed to be a lack of offensive options, however with this pressure on the horizon, other offensive players stepped their game up to push the Browns to their 17-16 victory. Tight end Ben Watson received for 64 yards, showing without Hillis he was able to step up and be the easier option for McCoy to access. Chad Henne performed well for an otherwise struggling Dolphins offense and threw for 255 yards for one touchdown and one interception. However Henne and his Dolphins were unable to stop the Browns as Peyton's replacement Hardesty ran for 67 yards showing signs of the form that many have believed he can be capable of. Elsewhere Josh Cribbs caught for 49 yards and one touchdown showing that when needed he can be a key receiver for McCoy, however McCoy earlier threw a wild pass towards a wide open Josh Cribbs as they failed to connect. However when this touchdown opportunity arrived, Cribbs and McCoy were in no mood to repeat the same mistake. The Browns have the tough task of beating the Titans next week who will now be without star receiver Kenny Britt who has a suspected season ending ACL tear. Although the Browns still showered areas of weakness, they proved they can create opportunities and play effective defense.
