Browns lose 13-12 after late field goal missThe Cleveland Browns were in anticipating their fourth win of the season as Phil Dawson prepared to take the 22yd field goal with a couple minutes remaining, however a bad snap and kick resulted in the Browns losing 13-12. Although kicker Dawson has been sensational this season, he was not the man of the hour today when he was required to finish this game off. Although Dawson will take a small percentage of the blame, the focus is still mostly on a crumbling Browns offense who yet again failed to score a touchdown at home. Dawson scored all of the Browns points, with four field goals. His efforts were not enough to stop the Browns fans from booing the players off the field. Shurmur will be taking a lot of bad emotion from this game as it was against the team he had previously spent two seasons working as their offensive coordinator. Although Shurmur knows the Rams offense extremely well he was unable to come up with a game plan to stop St.Louis stars Jackson, Bradford and Lloyd. Jackson rushed for 128 yards. Ex friend and co worker Bradford finished the game completing 15 of 26 passes for 155 yards and one touchdown, matched with one interception. McCoy a former college rival of Bradford went 20 of 27 for 218 yards but failed to get a Browns TD. The highlight of the game for McCoy was a 52 yard pass to rookie receiver Greg Little which added excitement amongst the Browns fans.
The Browns surprised the Rams with a trick play in which Cribbs took the snap in the wildcat formation and handed it to backup QB Seneca Wallace, who threw it back to McCoy who through long back to Wallace. The Rams are starting to build momentum and this win will allow their team and fans to believe their horrible season start is something of the past, however the Browns appear to have swapped form with them. Cleveland have struggled in all aspects as of late and many are questioning their ability to even win another game this season. Up next for the Browns are hopefully winnable games against the Jags and the Cardinals.
