Desperate Chargers seek crucial win against tough Week 11 Matchup
For the Chargers under Norv Turner, November is usually a month filled with winning football games. This season the tables have turned and the 4-5 Chargers have lost their first two November games and a total of four straight. Things are not looking any better as the team travels to Soldier Field to face the 6-3 Bears in what is looking like a must win game for the Chargers. Being in one of the worst divisions in the NFL, the Chargers are lucky to be only 1 game behind the Raiders but cannot afford to lose games, especially with 2 more AFC West games and 5 games against winning teams remaining on the schedule. The Chargers need to improve on both sides of the ball, but a major factor to this team turning its fortunes around is the play of Phillip Rivers. Rivers has struggled this year throwing league high 15 interceptions through the first 10 weeks of the season. The Chargers need Rivers and the rest of the offense to increase their productivity in order for the team to have any chance of finishing the season on a strong note and possibly making the playoffs. If there is any week to increase offensive productivity, especially through the air, this is the week as the Chargers face a Bear’s defense that is 29th in defending the pass.

In other Charger’s news, the team has placed star lineman Chris Dielman (concussion) on IR after finding out that he won’t be ready to play within the next couple of games. Dielman’s injury caused some controversy around league because his concussion went unnoticed by the referees and he continued to play the rest of the game. To replace Dielman the Charger’s recently signed Ikechuku Ndukwe. The o-line also suffered some other setbacks, as Luis Guzman and Marcus McNeill were both injured during last week’s game against the Raiders. Both players are questionable heading into Sunday’s game.
