Week 14 Game Recap - Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens
Coming into the game on Sunday, everyone knew what kind of game this would be, the Ravens come in with a tough defense and a smash-mouth offensive style that involves a furious rushing attack. The Ravens are getting ready to make a playoff run that; they hope will take them to the Super Bowl and eventually a championship. With the passing attack hit or miss from week to week the Ravens are looking to find consistency with the run and the pass, as always Ray Rice is showing that he is a premier running back in the NFL but the question still remains will Joe Flacco rise to the occasion as a big time performer on the big stage. For the Colts it has been a season to forget as they are still looking for the first win of the season but of course they knew that it would not be easy on Sunday. With Dan Orlovsky taking over as starting quarterback the Colts offense last weekend put some much needed points on the board but in a losing effort. The Colts still have Pro Bowlers at many key positions but they just can’t seem to find the formula to mesh it all together. In order for the Colts to NOT be winless at the end of the season they must put together a solid effort on BOTH sides of the ball. Here is how the game broke down on Sunday:
1st quarter The Ravens get on the board first as Joe Flacco finds T. Smith from 8-yards out for the touchdown and to cap off the quarter the Ravens B. Cundiff kicks a 36-yard field goal and the score at the end of the 1 st Colts 0, Ravens 10
2nd quarter The punishing ground game takes over as Ray Rice scores from 6-yards out the Colts answer with a Vinatieri 22- yard field goal and the score at the half Colts 3, Ravens 17
3rd quarter The Ravens get back on the board once again as Flacco finds D. Pitta from 7-yards out for the touchdown and the Ravens are pouring it on Indianapolis; Colts 3, Ravens 24
4th quarter The Colts finally find the end zone but it’s too little too late as Orlovsky hits J. Tamme from 13-yards out and the final score Colts 10, Ravens 24.
Key Stats: Indianapolis Colts Orlovsky 17 of 37 136 yards 1 touchdown 1 interception Brown 9 rushes 28 yards 0 touchdown Garcon 5 receptions 46 yards 0 touchdown
Baltimore Ravens Flacco 23 of 31 227 yards 2 touchdowns 1 interception Rice 26 rushes 103 yards 1 touchdown Boldin 5 receptions 57 yards 0 touchdown
