Preseason Week 2 - Washington Redskins vs. Indianapolis ColtsThis has been a shaky preseason for the Colts, with the surgery for Manning affecting his play (or lack of) in the preseason you can truly see that the team has struggled. Honestly the Colts have never been a team that focuses much on the preseason but for them this one seems a little more important. There is much speculation if Manning will be ready for the opener against Houston but only time will tell. In the preseason Curtis Painter has looked anything but grand he seems to have really struggled thus leading to the team signing Kerry Collins to provide insurance just in case Manning cannot go. For the Redskins, gone are Haynesworth and McNabb and the team is looking to start fresh and new it will start with the quarterback position as Beck and Grossman will battle it out to see who will be the starter. The Redskins are sure that they can win without bringing in a big name signal caller but we will see if they trust that later in the season. An acquisition to watch will be that of Tim Hightower from the Arizona Cardinals, it seems as though Hightower has taken the reigns for becoming the starter at running back for the skins which could mean a more explosive rushing attack. In the first quarter, the Redskins were firing on all cylinders as Hightower takes it in from a yard out and Gano tacks on a 28-yard field goal to make the score at the end of the first Redskins 10, Colts 0
The second quarter was more of the same Gano puts a couple of field goals on the board one from 27-yards out and another from 26-yards out and the score at half Redskins 16, Colts 0 In the third the Colts finally get on the board as Vinatieri kicks a 55-yard field goal and that is all the scoring in the third at the end of the third Redskins 16, Colts 3 The fourth quarter no team put points on the board so the final score Washington 16, Indianapolis 3
Standouts:Redskins Beck-QB- 14/17, 140 yards Hightower-RB- 6 att., 70 yards, 1 touchdown Helu-RB- 14 att., 101 yards Colts Vinatieri-K- 55-yard field goal
