Week 7 Game Recap - Indianapolis Colts @ New Orleans Saints
This Sunday night battle is usually one of epic proportion, with two of the best quarterbacks in the league squaring off but this match-up seemed to be one sided as the Saints come in with Drew Brees but the Colts are without Peyton Manning. Needless to say this was not the match-up that the network was looking for with Manning in street clothes on the sideline but it was definitely thought to be a good game nonetheless. So no one expected what they saw on Sunday night, the Colts come in struggling but finding out some positive things about the team every week they play. Painter has really stepped in nicely but has not found it easy to come away with a win. Painter’s main connection has been with Garcon, if they are to find success he must involve all parts of the offense. For the Saints it seems like they have not missed a beat, going under the radar for the most part they have one of the best passing attacks in the league today. Jimmy Graham is emerging as the go-to guy in New Orleans and with Colston and Henderson on the outside the Saints can put points on the board in a hurry and on Sunday night they showed how lethal they really are, let’s look at the game summary:
1st quarter The Saints get on the board first as Drew Brees finds Colston from 14-yards out for the score, again the Saints get the ball and march down the field as Brees again finds Colston from 4-yards out. The Saints continue to pour it on as Brees connects with Sproles from 6-yards out making the score at the end of the first Colts 0, Saints 21.
2nd quarter The Saints don’t miss a beat as Collins runs the ball in from a yard out and Kasay adds a 23-yard field goal as the Saints continue to roll. The Colts finally get on the board as Carter has a 2-yard touchdown run. Before halftime Kasay tacks on another field goal for the Saints, this one from 47-yards out making the score at the half Colts 7, Saints 34.
3rd quarter The Saints seem to pick up right where they left off Brees connects with Graham from 4-yards out and again on another drive Brees hits Graham from 2-yards away making the score at the end of three Colts 7, Saints 48
4th quarter The Saints were not done as Sproles runs the ball in from 16-yards away and the massacre continues the final nail is a Torrence interception of Painter and he takes it to the house from 42-yards out making the final score Colts 7, Saints 62
