In a race between the Miami Dolphins and the St. Louis Rams, it appears the Miami Dolphins have got the edge in signing Jeff Fisher. The NFL network reported that Fisher was close to signing with the Dolphins.
Fisher is among five candidates such as Mike Zimmer of the Bengals, Dave Toub of the Bears, Joe Philbin of the Packers and Todd Bowles who was the interim head coach and he led the Dolphins to a 2-1 finish when he took over from Tony Sparano
Out of the five, Fisher was on the top of the Dolphins list.
The NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reported the deciding factor was the Dolphins' stronger foundation.
"The infrastructure is in place in Miami, something (Fisher) doesn't really have in St. Louis," NFL Lombardi said told WQAM (560 AM) Wednesday morning. "I've been told by people that know him from Tennessee that he's leaning toward Miami."
Fisher was head coach of the Titans for 16 years and lead them to 6 winning season and four playoff appearances.
