As time expired, the Dolphins were left to regret what could have been. Rookie Dan Bailey kicked a 28 yard field goal as time expired to give the Dallas Cowboys a 20-19 Thanksgiving Day win
"When you come into somebody else's place, those (deep drives) have got to be touchdowns," Miami coach Tony Sparano said. "They've been touchdowns the last few weeks and that's why you win."
The Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo threw 2 picks, but he and Demarco Murray led a late fourth quarter drive to win the ball game. "We're just finding ways to win," said Romo, who offset a pair of interceptions with a pair of touchdown passes.
"He just kind of kept hanging in there," Garrett said. "I thought he moved in the pocket really well. In critical situations, he ... allowed us to make plays."
The win put the Cowboys half a game ahead of the Giants in the NFC East and depending on what the Giants do in New Orleans, the Cowboys will either be tied, or a game ahead of the Giants.
The Dolphins are now 3-8 and are still bottom of the AFC East.
Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore finished the day with 288 yards and 1 TD.' It's my fault. Those snaps were catch-able snaps and I should have been able to catch them'. Moore fumbled a snap deep in Miami territory with less than 2 minutes left in the first half which set up Dallas' first TD of the day.
One of the big plays on offense the Dolphins created was when Brandon Marshall caught a 35 yard TD pass in the third quarter to put the Dolphins up.
Before that, the Dolphins picked off Romo twice.
"We felt like we played a good game all day, but we didn't make enough plays and they did," Miami safety Yeremiah Bell said. "That's the price you pay, so if we would have made more plays, we would have won the game."
Demarco Murray finished the day with 87 rushing yards. Reggie Bush finished with 61 yards on the ground and 35 in the air.
