2011 Draft player profiles…A.J. GreenIn this installment of articles we want to profile many of the players that your team could spend a draft pick on. There are many highly touted college players in this years draft but as we have seen in the past sometimes you can find that diamond in the ruff. Everyone is hoping that their team can pick that ‘can’t miss player’ and if your team is lucky enough to find that player he could change the face of the franchise for years to come. For players coming into the NFL they are looking to make a huge splash with the team that takes them but more important is winning over the fan base and impacting not only the team but also the city. A.J. Green Height / Weight: 6-4 / 207 Birth date: 07/31/1988 Age: 22 Hometown: Summerville, SC College Experience: 3
Green is a physical specimen at the wide receiver position, he can snatch and grab the ball out of the air and he is a quarterbacks dream and a defensive backs nightmare. Green has the body of an NFL receiver and he has all the tools to make the jump to the next level. Some of his highlights of his career at Georgia: All-SEC second team, Vince Dooley MVP of the year award, led the team in 2010 with 57 receptions for 848 yards and 9 touchdowns, Offensive MVP in Liberty Bowl with 8 receptions for 77 yards, had his best game against Auburn with 9 receptions for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns, on many lists as the number 1 wide receiver in this year’s NFL draft. Green can come into the NFL and make a difference right away but he must have the veteran presence to teach him the in’s and out’s of the NFL game. Green will be able to come in and do work not only on the offensive side of the ball but also in special teams as a kick and punt return specialist. In my opinion he will be an instant impact player, in the right system he will be a candidate for offensive rookie of the year.
