2011 Draft player profiles…Von Miller

> 2011 NFL Draft Coverage

In this installment of articles we want to profile many of the players that your team could spend a draft pick on. There are many highly touted college players in this years draft but as we have seen in the past sometimes you can find that diamond in the ruff. Everyone is hoping that their team can pick that ‘can’t miss player’ and if your team is lucky enough to find that player he could change the face of the franchise for years to come. For players coming into the NFL they are looking to make a huge splash with the team that takes them but more important is winning over the fan base and impacting not only the team but also the city.

Miller is an incredible sideline to sideline linebacker, with all the tools made for the NFL game he is a player that is ready to come in and make a solid impact. Miller was a consensus All-American in 2010; he led the Big 12 with 10.5 sacks in 13 games. No doubt he was the emotional leader on the defensive side of the ball for the Aggies he even had 8.5 sacks in conference play to help his team clinch a share of the Big 12 title. His best game came against rival Texas where he had an interception, recorded two sacks, a tackle for loss, forced a fumble and recovered one fumble. He really set the stage for his draft status in his game with LSU in the cotton bowl as he had nine tackles including three for loss and a quarterback sack.

Miller is a big, strong, physical linebacker and he has really impressed at the combine and in his individual meetings. Whoever takes Miller in the draft will get a blue chip prospect that is a game changer. Miller will work in any scheme in the NFL; look for him to be used not only at linebacker but also as a defensive end at times.
