The NFL Lockout from the players’ perspective

As we all know, if you are fans of the NFL it has been frustrating to say the least to be in the midst of this lockout. From all of the hype coming out of media outlets, to the owners he said, she said activity it has been an overwhelming time for fans who really love this game. It seems as though the back and forth talk has not only frustrated players and owners but especially the fans. From a fan perspective it seems as though there is no end in sight, with the cancelation of the Hall of Fame Game it just feels as though losing many preseason games will be right around the corner. It will be very difficult for many players and coaches to be ready for the start of a new season, with very little preparation. If a season will be in order you have to wonder what kind of quality will, you the fans be getting? If they do not have the full time to prepare how often will injuries occur? It is almost certain that since we will be starting the season later than usual it will happen more and some of the games biggest names could be casualties. We all look forward to the start of an amazing football season but when? With the owners already agreeing on a new CBA with a 31-0 vote (Oakland not voting) you would hope for light at the end of the tunnel but the players must vote and agree. The fact is from a player’s perspective there were many things discussed but apparently there were many things not discussed in the new CBA.

Just a few tweets from the players:

“The owners tried 2 slip many things n2 the CBA ‘they’ voted on that were NEVER agreed 2”

“Starting to hear that the deal is not as sweet as the media made it seem…Here we go again”

“It’s not over people, don’t believe the hype, but we close”

These quotes from current NFL players, when you read these you seem to feel that we could be in for a long and drawn out process (which has already been long and drawn out). We as fans of the game are ready for some football and many of the players have stated they are also ready to get back to the game they love. We can only hope that there is an end in sight because from the looks of things it could be a long season (or no season).
