Top 10 games of 2010 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Cincinnati Bengals (week 5)

The word out of Cincinnati early in the preseason was Super Bowl or bust, but as the season progressed there were hopes of just making the playoffs and those hopes turned to just hoping the end of the season would come soon. The Bengals had many key pieces in place (or so they thought) with Palmer at the quarterback spot, Benson running the ball and Owens and Ocho catching the passes they looked to be set (until the season actually started). The Buccaneers were the surprise team in 2010 many didn’t realize that this young team was primed and ready to make a big splash in the NFL. With Raheem Morris at the helm and Josh Freeman running the show the future is bright for the Bucs. This game featured two teams on the opposite end of the spectrum but in this matchup they battled as if both were championship contenders. Here is how the game was played:

1st quarter:

The Bengals get on the board first with a Carson Palmer to T. Owens 43-yard touchdown pass

And at the end of the 1st Bengals 7, Bucs 0

2nd quarter:

C. Palmer threw a pick six to C. Grimm and he returned it 11-yards to even the score

M. Nugent put the Bengals back on top with a 31-yard field goal

The score at the half Bengals 10, Bucs 7

3rd quarter:

E. Graham scored with a 1-yard touchdown run for the Bucs

M. Nugent kicked another field goal from 35-yards out

The score at the end of the 3rd Bengals 13, Bucs 14

4th quarter:

C. Palmer got back on track finding J. Gresham from a yard out for the touchdown; C. Benson rushed in for the two point conversion

The Bucs come right back as Josh Freeman finds M. Williams from 20-yards out for the go ahead touchdown

And finally with time winding down C. Barth puts the Bucs up for good with a 31-yard game winning field goal. The final score Bengals 21, Bucs 24.
