Top 10 games of 2010 - New York Jets vs. Houston TexansComing into this game the Houston Texans on paper seem to have the offensive fire power to hold there on against anyone in the league but the record didn’t reflect that, the Texans were at a crossroads with a 4-5 record. The Jets were riding a ‘good graces’ streak were it seems as though there were many games that things just seemed to fall into place and they came out on top. For the Jets there defense as always was solid and it seemed to be a good match-up against the potent Texans offense. The Jets during the offseason looked to improve on the offensive side of the ball adding Santonio Holmes and Ladainian Tomlinson but the improvement must come from the quarterback position. At best Mark Sanchez is average but to play for the Jets you must be above average, but is that possible for Sanchez? With the bright lights and big city can Sanchez shine and be the quarterback they want and need him to be? Moreover how long are they willing to wait for him to step into that role, at any rate he made big plays in this game? Here is how the game was played:
st quarter: The Jets get on the board first with a N. Folk 37-yard field goal The score at the end of the 1st Jets 3, Texans 0
nd quarter: The Texans strike back with an A. Foster 2-yard touchdown run For the Jets Sanchez finds B. Edwards for a 4-yard touchdown pass To finish the quarter the Jets N. Folk hits a 33-yard field goal The score at the half Jets 13, Texans 7
rd quarter: The Jets defense stands firm and the offense scores the only points in the third as Sanchez finds S. Holmes for a 41-yard touchdown pass The score at the end of the third Jets 20, Texans 7
th quarter: For the Jets N. Folk kicks a 30-yard field goal The Texans strike back with a N. Rackers 38-yard field goal The Texans started to roll as M. Schaub finds J. Dreessen from 43-yards out for the touchdown A. Foster tacks on another 7 points with a 1-yard run N. Rackers adds on a 22-yard field goal and it looks as though we are heading to overtime but the Jets strike back with a 5 play 72-yard drive with only 45 seconds left in the game, as Sanchez connects with S. Holmes from six yards out with only 10 seconds remaining for the game winning score. Final score Jets 30, Texans 27
