Top 10 games of 2010 - New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons (week 3)Now we all know that when the Saints made their historic Super Bowl run that they would be the team to beat for a few years to come, but no one saw the Falcons coming. Atlanta, in order to claim their spot on top, they must get past the Saints. The Falcons are a young and hungry team, but the Saints are a veteran team that enjoys the view from the top; you knew this game was going to be one for the books. With two of the premier quarterbacks in the league, Matt Ryan and Drew Brees you figured this game would be a shootout in this divisional rivalry. The Falcons were looking to show that they were the team to beat in the NFC and the best way to do that is to defeat the team that wears the crown. It was early in the season but Atlanta was looking to establish momentum and ride that all through the season, they believed that they belonged but it was time to show the world. Here’s the scoring summary:
1st quarter: Drew Brees hits J. Shockey from 2-yards out for a touchdown Matt Ryan finds T. Gonzalez from 13-yards out for a touchdown Drew Brees hits an open L. Moore for an 80-yard touchdown pass The score at the end of the 1st New Orleans 14, Atlanta 7
2nd quarter M. Turner punches it in from 1-yard out for a touchdown And at the half the score was tied New Orleans 14, Atlanta 14
3rd quarter M. Bryant nails a 23-yard field goal for Atlanta Drew Brees again finds L. Moore from 16-yards out for another touchdown The score at the end of the third New Orleans 21, Atlanta 17
4th quarter Matt Ryan finally hits R. White from 22-yards out for a touchdown G. Hartley kicks a 32-yard field goal for New Orleans And we are headed to overtime
Overtime G. Hartley has a chance to kick the game winner but misses (29-yards) M. Bryant seals the deal for the Falcons with a 46-yard game winner.
