Browns host Giants on Monday Night FootballCleveland looks to upset the defending Super Bowl Champions
In losing three of their first four games this season, the Cleveland Browns have shown little resemblance to last year's club that finished 10-6 and nearly qualified for the playoffs.
When the inter-conference foes meet in Cleveland in a nationally televised Monday night contest, the Browns will be aiming to rekindle their missing offensive firepower while the Giants will be out to maintain the efficiency on both sides of the ball that has them atop the rugged NFC East Division. “It’s a big game for us,” Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards said. “We somewhat got back on track after the Cincinnati game (a 20-12 victory for the Browns in Week 4). I thought we had a good week of practice during the bye week. Going into this game we have a small bit of momentum. To play on Monday night against a team that is arguably the best in the league is a good chance for us to really get back in the thick of things.”
The Browns, who are coming off their bye week, have scored 46 points all season. They might be without standout tight end Kellen Winslow, who is listed as doubtful due to an undisclosed illness. The Giants, who put up 44 points in their Week 5 victory over the Seahawks, will be bolstered by the return to the lineup of star receiver Plaxico Burress, who was suspended for the game against Seattle. The Browns will wear late-1950s throwback uniforms, featuring orange helmets with a single white stripe down the middle and player numbers on the sides in brown. The old-time headgear represents a tribute to an era when the Browns and Giants played twice every season as rivals who were perennial championship contenders. Prediction: Giants 34, Browns 17
