Browns look for road win @ WashingtonCleveland looks to pick up 3rd straigt win after 0-3 start
The Cleveland Browns' 35-14 upset of the New York Giants was as impressive as it was surprising. In defeating the defending Super Bowl champions on Monday Night Football, the Browns amassed 454 yards of total offense – with no turnovers, no sacks allowed and no punts.
The Browns (2-3) will try to maintain that level Sunday when they play on the road against another rugged NFC East Division opponent, the Washington Redskins. After posting consecutive road victories at Dallas and Philadelphia, the Redskins (4-2) lost at home last week to the previously winless St. Louis Rams. “They’ve got something to prove now themselves because they lost a game they were not expecting to lose, so they’re going to be loaded up for us,” Browns coach Romeo Crennel said about the Redskins. “We’d better be ready when we go, and that’s what I’ve been telling the players.” The Browns will have to find a way to contain Redskins running back Clinton Portis, who is having an outstanding season with 643 yards rushing and six touchdowns through six games.
Washington quarterback Jason Campbell also has been effective. He has passed for 1,262 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions. Portis is listed as questionable for the Redskins with a hip injury but is expected to play. The Browns, meanwhile, are hoping that tight end Kellen Winslow can return to the lineup after missing the game against the Giants due to an undisclosed illness. Prediction: Redskins 23, Browns 17
