Eagles Roll Over the Rams 38-3

If this is any indication on how the Philadelphia Eagles are going to play this year, then this is a great start to the year. Even though the Eagles played the lowly St. Louis Rams, they showed a lot of promise in this game, starting with the special teams. Desean Jackson was phenomenal and he showed he can be a threat as he almost took two punts all the way home.Eagles hats & merchandise He was tripped up inside the 20 on one punt and another punt he was tripped at the 40 with all daylight in front of him. Nevertheless the special teams game is where the Eagles have showed the most improvement already, as they downed three punts inside the Rams 5 yard line. Donovan McNabb looked like Donovan McNabb again as he threw for over 300 yards and 3 scored with no interceptions. He hit eight different receivers in the game as he showed that he is back and ready to play again. Can’t forget about Brian Westbrook of course as he rushed for 91 yards and had 2 touchdowns including a receiving touchdown. Playing without Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown did not stop McNabb. Desean Jackson had 6 catches for 106 yards, Greg Lewis had 5 catches for 104 yards, and Hank Baskett had 3 catches for 102 yards including the 90 yarder he caught at the end of the half for a touchdown. The Eagles harassed Marc Bulger all day long as he was sacked 4 times in the game. Steven Jackson was not a factor in the game at all either as he only rushed for 40 yards. The Eagles looked good all the way around but now they need to continue this all season long.

Next up the Eagles head to Big D to take on Tony Romo and the archrival Dallas Cowboys. Dallas crushed the Eagles last year en route to a NFC East title and the Eagles need to get off to a good start if they expect to hang in the ultra-competitive East this year. Dallas is coming off a blowout of the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland which surprised a lot of people. Many people thought Cleveland would surprise this year but Dallas obviously did not see much as they harassed Derek Anderson all day long and Romo picked the Cleveland defense apart. Should be a good game on Monday Night Football next week.
