Jets Look for Win Number Two in SD

Jets face Chargers on Monday Night Football

Let me start out by saying that I think I am the first person to ever have their jokes edited out on this website…twice. Apparently you can’t joke about abortion, which on second thought makes some sense.

Okay, this week Jets fans, you need to brace yourselves. It is going to be a blowout, and not in a good way. The Jets typically play the Chargers well. They usually play them close, I know this. This week it is just not going to play out like that.

New York Jets hatsThe Chargers are 0 and 2 and have lost 2 straight tough ones with less than 5 seconds on the clock. Which I hope was enough to make one specific Charger fan exact some physical damage on himself, but I digress. Last week, the Bolts were screwed by the NFL and my personal favorite referee, Ed Hochuli, who I will refrain from making a joke about his guns because it is played out, but that dude is seriously ripped. It is for that reason especially that I expect the Chargers to come out firing. Well, that and because the Jets play the first two weeks of the season has been uninspiring to say the least.

Monday night’s game presents itself as a real challenge for the newly constructed Jet defense. The Chargers may be 0 and 2, but for the most part, this is still the team that lost last year’s AFC Championship Game in New England. Last week they even had the added bonus of once again having LaDanian Tomlinson on the sideline with his helmet on, just like that game last January. The Chargers have a tremendous defense that is still good despite having the lights on this year, which is also my attempt at making Shawn Merriman joke. I think I failed. Offensively the Bolts run and pass the ball consistently better than 95 percent of the teams in the league.

Tomlinson missed a couple practices this week and may be limited Monday night, but do you really think the Jets can stop Darren Sprowles anyway? The Jets usually play the Chargers tight, but they also usually come up short.

This preview will be the shortest one of the season. Bank on that. It’s quite simple if you look at it logically. I am obviously a man of logic, despite what Professor Steven Rains might tell you. The Jets have not gelled yet and have not looked very good offensively the first two weeks of the season. The Chargers have been all right, but this team is like a caged animal ready to be unleashed.

That being said, the Jets are going to get killed this week. The only thing I want to know is why would ESPN.com feature a story on Adam Kennedy seeking a trade and yet not update the status of the best running back in the NFL all week. It makes complete sense to me.

The pick: Bolts 34 - Jets 13
