Panthers prepare for Lions in week 11 showdown
The Panthers have something to prove after a flat but winning effort against the Oakland Raiders. Jake Delhomme threw 4 interceptions and Steve Smith was held to one reception.
One bright spot was DeAngelo Williams rushing for a career high 140 yards. With Stewart still nursing a heel injury expect Williams to get the bulk of the carries again. And Detroit brings the worst rushing defense into this game. Once again the Panthers will try to do their play action passes off the run. And Williams proved he isn’t just a scat back and can run for tough yards as well. Detroit has not won a game this season and I don’t think they will this week. Daunte Culpepper will have one more week learning the offense. And Calvin Johnson could become a threat with Culpepper but not this week. Carolina fans hope Julius Peppers can follow up on his 3 sack day against Oakland. But even if he does not, the Panthers should have few problems with Detroit’s offense. And I do not think a John Fox team will play flat, two weeks in a row.
