Ravens head to the Meadowlands to face the New York football Giants

Baltimore looks to make it 5 in a row against the Big Blue Wrecking Crew

Things are moving right along in Baltimore Ravens camp lately. The team is coming together and may even hit their stride or dare I say peak at the right time. As we have discussed before it is no longer all about stopping the other team or they lose. Of course it is nice to have the #2 overall defense, #1 in rushing defense.

This week they are going to need it because the Giants are excavating through the league thus far. They bulldozed the Eagles for 219 rushing yards last week alone. The Holy Rushing Trinity of Jacobs, Bradshaw, and Ward are relentless. The media calls them Earth,Wind, and Fire.

And let us not forget they have Mini Manning. Yes Eli has worked his way into an All-Pro caliber QB and has a nice group of protectors in front of him.

Baltimore Ravens hats It will be vital for the Ravens to slow down the methodical Giants who just pile on yards and eat chunks of the clock. And honestly the Ravens have that ability. By comparison the Eagles are a good defense but they notoriously break down as the season wears on. They are undersized and parted like the Red Sea. The Ravens are far more physical and can maintain a feirceness through the entire season.

Plus now the Ravens have some offense of their own. The Giants however are the 3rd ranked defense in the league and 7th against the rush. So the newfangled Ravens offense will have a chance to put up or shut up. Playing the reigning champs will be barometer for sure.

Joe Flacco is going to be under more pressure for certain. But he has faced Pittsburgh so this will not be totally unchartered waters. Also the Ravens have a three horse backfield of their own that is developing. If they can all play healthy together it will be quite a threat to opposing defenses. And based on the injury reports so far this week it looks like McGahee,McClain, and Rice are all good to go.

Realistically speaking if the Ravens show up with their "A" game and keep the Giants offense off the field and cause a few turnovers they have a chance to be in the game. And if the Ravens rushers can move the chains with Flacco hitting his receivers consistantly they can win the game.

I don't see it happening. This team is still growing and the Giants are in cruise control. I would bring up this is a home game for Big Blue but that doesn't seem to matter to them anyhow. Giants win this one 28 - 17.
