A Ravens rude awakeningGiants slap the Ravens silly, 30-10
You know things are bad when you see your team has rushed for a respectable 121 total yards only to see that your QB was the leading rusher! This was a smackdown in the Meadowlands plain and simple. Look I guess we should all admire that the young rookie QB Joe Flacco kept pressing ahead and the offense did not back down but they just got 'out executed' from every angle on the field. The worst part for me was the Ravens defense surrendering...........wait surrender would imply they had a choice............make that the defense was sliced and diced for 207 yards. Oh and the Giants QB ran for a -3 yards. But hey this is one of them "we got a long way to go" moments. With the loss they are still within a game of Pittsburgh for the AFC North title and the playoffs still loom over their heads. Hopefully a loss like this is a bit of a humbling experience. Sometimes even professional athletes need to be reminded that athletic ability alone will not go deep in the playoffs. A Champion also has more than a swagger. Champions are disciplined and know that execution must come before just effort and bravado. Honestly this is one of those games there is no point in reviewing the stat sheets and looking for positives. Because there weren't any other than the one we mentioned above. That is that there are no quitters on this team. There is something to be said about that.
Well this a bitter pill, but one they will have to swallow it since it got shoved down their throat. So this is a film you need to look at closely and see how you got outcoached, outplayed, and even outclassed. You live to see another day. Fortunately that another day comes in the form of an Eagle. And wow if you think that the Ravens had a letdown well wait till they watch the unwatchable game film of the Eagles vs Bengals. That will be even more painful then watching there loss to the Giants, trust me, I made myself watch it. Being from the Philadelphia area I still show some interest in the "local" team. That was horrific football. I am not even sure that the NFL can legally call that football. Anyhow back to the Ravens. 6 wins and 4 losses is still a good showing for this team. So let's take a break as fans, find some happy thoughts to fill our mind for a couple days while the boys get re-charged and get ready to take out there frustration on Philadephia.
