Minnesota thumps Jacksonville, 30-12
Vikes move to 6-5
The Vikings entered Week 12 with the possibility of being in first place in the NFC North by themselves, or at least being tied for the division lead if they could win on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was a virtual must-win game if the Vikings want to remain in the NFC playoff picture.
Minnesota jumped to a 14-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game after two Jacksonville turnovers, then outscored the Jaguars 13-2 in the second half on their way to a 30-12 victory to move their record to 6-5.
RBs Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor both scored rushing touchdowns in the game, while the defense was once again stout against the run. Jacksonville had just 35 rushing yards during the game, though they only had 14 attempts. QB Gus Frerotte continued his recent struggles though, throwing for just 120 yards without a touchdown. He also got banged up during the game, to the point he had to leave the field a few times.

Reports have suggested that DTs Pat and Kevin Williams may avoid suspension until early next week, when a decision on the many cases of positive drug tests across the league for use of a banned diuretic are expected.
That would make the “Williams Wall” able to play this Sunday night against the 6-5 Chicago Bears, in a battle for the lead in the NFC North.
