Minnesota moves into tie for first place with win over Green Bay
Vikes defeat The Pack in week #10
The Vikings welcomed the rival Green Bay Packers to Metrodome last weekend, for an important division game. The winner had a chance to move into a tie for first place in the NFC North, provided the Chicago Bears suffered a loss.
The Vikings won a wildly entertaining game 28-27 as Green Bay kicker Mason Crosby missed a 52-yard field goal in the final minute. The Packers scored two touchdowns, one on an interception return and the other on a punt return, in quick succession to take the lead 24-21 going into the fourth quarter. Green Bay was allowed to stay in the game due largely to the three interceptions thrown by QB Gus Frerotte.
Vikings’ RB Adrian Peterson proved he is the league’s best runner, as he had 192 rushing yards on 30 carries and scored the game-winning touchdown. Fellow RB Chester Taylor also played well, as he had over 100 total yards and a receiving touchdown. Peterson had more rushing yards then the Packers had in total yards (184).

Defensively, the Vikings played very well. They held Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers to 142 passing yards as they sacked him four times, including once for a safety by DE Jared Allen. They forced Rodgers into an illegal forward pass penalty in the end zone which also resulted in a safety in the first half.
The Vikings (5-4) now move into a tie with the Chicago Bears for the division lead, as the Bears lost to the undefeated Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Chicago technically holds the tiebreaker since they won the game against Minnesota earlier in the season, but the Vikings get another shot at the Bears later this month.
For Week 11, the Vikings go to Tampa Bay to play the Buccaneers in their first of two consecutive games in Florida.
