The Denver Broncos All-Time Team
Top Ten Denver Broncos
Denver like many teams in the NFL has a wealth of past and present players that could go on this list. With many great players it is a difficult task to just pick ten, but we have narrowed it down, we are sure there will be some who disagree but we have our ten and here they are:
10. Champ Bailey-CB
Probably the maker of the shutdown corner, he was relentless. Bailey made it to the Pro Bowl in his first four seasons as a Bronco, with the Broncos he also has made 25 interceptions with a league leading 10 in 2006 with 3 of those going to the house for touchdowns. He is a fan favorite in Denver and will be for years to come.
9. Tom Nalen-OL
Nalen was chosen in the seventh round and became a starter on the Broncos line and held it for the next 13 years. He started 188 and made 5 Pro Bowls, he was an all-pro pick in 2003.
8. Trevor Pryce-DL
Pryce quite possibly could be Denver’s best defensive lineman; in 1999 he racked up 13 sacks and an all-pro selection with a trip to the Pro Bowl. In over 100 games with Denver he had over 60 sacks and over 300 tackles.
7. Steve Atwater-S
Atwater was one of the most ferocious hitters of all time; he started every game that he played with Denver. Steve Atwater was chosen for 8 Pro Bowls and gathered 24 interceptions and over 1100 tackles as a Denver Bronco.
6. Shannon Sharpe-TE
One of the most vocal team leaders for Denver, Mr. Sharpe always brought his “A” game. Sharpe made an incredible seven straight Pro Bowls, in his 12 years with the team he made over 650 receptions and 55 touchdowns.

5. Tom Jackson-LB
Undersized at linebacker, what he lacked in size he made up for in heart and determination. Jackson made 3 straight Pro Bowls, in his career he had 20 interceptions, over 40 sacks and always ranked at the top of the list for tackling with the team.
4. Rod Smith-WR
Smith was undrafted, yes that is correct undrafted, he became a regular in 1997 and that was the first of 6 straight 1,000 yard seasons. He enjoyed 3 Pro Bowls and tallied 849 receptions for 11,389 yards and 68 touchdowns each a Bronco team record. An amazing wide receiver, that took Denver by storm.
3. Terrell Davis-RB
Drafted in the 6 th round, Davis in that season rushed for over 1100 yards with 49 receptions and for the next 3 years he simply dominated in rushing with over 2,000 yards in the 98’ season. Davis finished his career with team records in rushing yards (7,607) and rushing touchdowns (60).
2. Dennis Smith-SS
Smith and hard hitting go hand in hand; he was a seven time Pro Bowl selection, intercepted 30 passes and had 17 fumble recoveries. During his career he had nearly 1200 tackles and was a true leader of that Denver defense.
1. John Elway-QB
The ultimate Bronco, Elway was the elite quarterback that Denver had always been looking for, over his career he passed for over 51,000 yards and 300 touchdowns with 9 Pro Bowl selections. He led the Broncos to 5 Super Bowl appearances and won the championship twice in his career. Elway also had over 3400 rushing yards and 33 rushing touchdowns in his career.
What a top ten team for the Denver Broncos, they have had amazing players over the decades and there are so many that could have been on this list. Denver has and always will have a rich football tradition and a strong passionate fan base.
