Indianapolis Colts (11-0) vs. Tennessee Titans (5-6) Game Preview Key Match-ups: Chris Johnson and the Titans rushing attack against the Colts defense. Chris Johnson has been running like a man possessed, he has ran wild against opposing defenses and is looking to have that 2,000 yard rushing season. The Colts defense has come up big time and time again this season. I believe that Indianapolis has one of the best if not the best defensive line in the league, with book ends Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney they cause havoc and disrupt opposing offenses. The key will be the Titans possibly using the over aggressive pass rush against Indy. If Johnson can pop out for screens and Vince Young use his legs it could be a long day for the Colts. In the same right, if Indy’s offense gets out to that big lead, those defensive ends will have a field day against the Titans.
Keys to the Game: How well can the Colts offense pass against that Titans secondary? The first time they met the Titans had many injuries in the secondary now with the secondary in tact (at least somewhat) will Indianapolis be able to pass without fail? Can Vince Young continue his magic carpet ride with the Titans? Young has shown in the past few games that he can throw the ball, but Indianapolis has created many turnovers with the secondary. This will be a test for Young to see if he has matured into that NFL quarterback that the Titans have hoped. The Colts are doing what a Super Bowl team does- win ugly. They have one every way this year and I believe this game will be no different. Vince Young is a hard player to defend because he can do so much with the run and with the pass, but I think Indy’s defense will be up to the task. It is a divisional game and all the intensity that is there between these two teams it will be the game to watch on Sunday. I will give the Colts the edge, they know how to win and when you have Manning under center a win is a lot closer even before you step on the field. This will be a close game (what a surprise) but Indy could be just a bit much for the Titans. That is why they play the game on the field; this is going to be a great match.
