Colts vs. Titans Game Recap

Indianapolis 27 Tennessee 17

Colts hats & merchandise “They will lose…”, “After this week they will not be undefeated…”, “The other team is just too hot…” these are all sayings that preceded this week’s Colts vs. Titans game. It is a lot of the same talk that was going on before the season began, other “so-called” experts decided before the season began that Indy’s window of opportunity was closing, now early in the season they said Indianapolis can’t win with all these rookie wide receivers, and now towards the end they still have no faith in the Indianapolis team. I ask what more needs to be done by these 2009 Indianapolis Colts. They are undefeated, Manning is on a roll with his rookie wide receivers and the defense (with key injuries) is playing on a high level; but still no respect. Now Tennessee comes in on a hot streak and all the critics and doubters are the first to speak up and say the Colts will lose this game, and just as before they have been proved wrong.

The Tennessee Titans came in on fire; Vince Young and his rejuvenated offense were coming off an incredible last second win against the Arizona Cardinals. Indianapolis, as we know, has been on fire as well coming off a dominant defensive performance against Houston and a great Manning performance with three touchdowns. So in essence this game was the original “Clash of the Titans” (I know bad play on words) but this was an important game for both teams. The game started off with Manning and the Colts marching the offense down the field and Joseph Addai taking it in for a touchdown. The Titans came back with a field goal late in the first quarter and then Indy struck again first in the second quarter with another Addai touchdown. The Colts were not done Manning then hit Austin Collie for a touchdown putting them up 21-3; the Titans pushed back with a Young to Kenny Britt touchdown allowing Tennessee to pull closer to Indianapolis, Indy added a field goal before halftime making the score 24-10 at the half. The second half was lack luster for both teams, the third quarter neither team scored and in the fourth the Colts added another field goal and Tennessee tacked on a late touchdown. The final score: Indianapolis 27, Tennessee 17 as the Colts remain undefeated.

Divisional opponents are always a battle for any team and they definitely make for intense games and come down to the wire. Indianapolis just keeps winning; they do the little things and the big things as well as any team in the league. Now there are two undefeated teams left in the NFL, the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints, and everyone ask who will fall first. At the rate both teams are playing they may just go unbeaten, now I know what you are saying, “maybe one but not both” just keep in mind, when we say it can’t happen it does, when we say it is impossible it becomes possible. The Colts are ready and there goal is not being undefeated, their goal is to be Super Bowl Champs, so for you who doubt we know what happens when doubt and Indianapolis meet, the outcome is not too good for doubt.
