The New York Giants have a rich history in the NFL. They have had some of the best players and the best teams ever. The Giants have always been in the mix as one of the leagues best teams and it showed with there Super Bowl victory against the then undefeated New England Patriots. Here is our list of Top Ten Giants players of all-time:
10. Sean Landeta-P
In his stellar career he had over 1400 punts, 60,707 yards with a 43.3 average. He was a difference maker for the Giants; he made 2 Pro Bowls and is a 2 time Super Bowl champion.
9. Dave Meggett-KR
In his time with the Giants he had over 3700 total yards as a punt returner and over 5500 yards as a kick returner, quite possibly the best returner in history he made 2 Pro Bowls and is a two time Super Bowl champion. He also won the 1988 Walter Peyton Award.
8. Jim “Jumbo” Elliott-OL
One of the most massive offensive linemen to play the game he was well liked by the New York fans. Elliott helped Phil Simms and that N.Y. offense accomplish many great things, in his career he made the Pro Bowl and is a Super Bowl champion.
7. Harry Carson-LB
A true New York Giant linebacker in his career Carson made 9 Pro Bowls and was a Super Bowl champion. He had 19 sacks and 11 interceptions during his time in New York; he was the heart of the Giants defense.
6. Phil Simms-QB
Maybe the Giants all time greatest quarterback, Simms had over 2500 completions with over 33,000 yards and 199 touchdowns. He is a Pro Bowler, Super Bowl champion and a Super Bowl MVP. His son Chris Simms now plays in the NFL.

5. Jessie Armstead-LB
The stream of steady New York Giant linebackers continues with Armstead, he was a 5 time Pro Bowler and a 4 time All-Pro selection. In his career he tallied over 990 tackles, 40 sacks and 12 interceptions a true force on the football field.
4. Mark Bavaro-TE
The solid, classic out for Phil Simms if you needed a first down Bavaro was the man to get it for you. Bavaro came to play week in and week out he was a Pro Bowler and a Super Bowl champion in his career he had over 350 receptions, 4700 yards and 39 touchdowns one of the games top tight ends.
3. Tiki Barber-RB
Tiki could have played a few more years but he knows when to say when, now an analyst he had an amazing career with the big blue. A 3 time Pro Bowl selection, Barber rushed for over 10,000 yards and 55 touchdowns. In a line of solid running backs for the Giants, Tiki tops them all.
2. Michael Strahan-DE
The Super Bowl champion with the winning smile, Strahan gave the Giants that toughness to win the Super Bowl championship. In his career over 850 tackles, 141 sacks with 7 Pro Bowl selections and the defensive player of the year in 2001 Strahan was the captain of that solid NY defense. Strahan now is an analyst for Sunday NFL games.
1. Lawrence Taylor-LB
The greatest force to ever play on the defensive side of the ball, Taylor excelled in all that he did with the Giants. Over his career he had over 1050 tackles, 142 sacks he was selected to 10 Pro Bowls and was a 3 time Defensive player of the year, the 1981 Defensive rookie of the year and the NFL’s 1986 MVP. Taylor was high energy and high motor there was no doubt who the best was when he was on the field.
The Giants are looking to return to prominence and it will start with bringing back the defensive of old. It’s the hard core, flying all around the field type defense that will win championships, the old New York Giant way of defense. The offense must get better to get them back to the promised land, but they are at a good starting point and things are looking up for the Giants.
