Jets try to keep it going vs Tennessee

This week the Jets look to rebound from their game against New England with a home tilt vs. the team formerly known as the Houston Oilers. Wait?...The Jets won last week. Not only did they beat the Pats, but they beat them down to the point when famous Patriot homers are writing articles about how they might be finished…FOREVER. I say let’s not pull a Mischa Barton and go crazy.

The reason why the Patriots lost last week is a combination of two factors and why the Jets have become the darling of the NFL with Merrill Hoge going public with his man-crush on Darrelle Revis. Stay with me.

  1. The Jets are good. Simple as that. So far in two weeks, the Jets defense refuses to break and has not allowed a touchdown. Mark Sanchez looks like a veteran to the extent that Glenn Katzman picked him up in fantasy under his “I need a veteran” logic. Sorry Mike James. Last but not least, the Tri State area is under the spell of Rex Ryan and Craig Carton has anointed him as a God.

  2. The Patriots early season struggles are understandable. Their defense underwent a transformation in the off season. Out is the old, in is the new…and THEIR QUARTERBACK HAS ONLY PLAYED TWO GAMES FOLLOWING A CATOSTROPHIC KNEE INJURY. Done and done.

The fact however remains that this was one of the greatest Jets victories in recent memory. A smile comes to my face every time I even hear the words “Rex” and “Ryan” mentioned in the same sentence. I haven’t been this happy since I found out Jimmy Fallon would no longer be on “SNL.”

Let’s face it though. For the Jets to keep it going this week it would be a huge task. Tennessee is hurting after dropping two close games to the point where their fans are almost as upset as I was when I found out Jimmy Fallon was getting his own late night show. The Titans only lost three games total last season, but this year they are only a loss away from equaling that total. The Titans need a win this week almost as badly as NBC needs a hit show on his Fall Lineup. Good work with “Community” Ben Silverman, and now the Titans are looking to do the same.

Chris Johnson ran for 7,000 yards last week. The Jets defense has been punishing through two weeks. Something has got to give, and I’m talking about Diane Keaton’s sagging breasts.

The Jets fans are fired up after a great game last week. We have a coach. We have a quarterback.

But people are forgetting…

These are still the Jets.

The Prediction

  • Titans 23

  • Jets 14

Let’s pray that I’m wrong.

VIVA SANCHEZ
