Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions PreviewWhy don’t they just forfeit?
Over the last decade the Green Bay Packers have just obliterated the Detroit lions. Out of 18 meetings the Pack took 16 of those, and feasted on the Lions woes. I understand that Brett Favre took the helm for the majority of those years; nevertheless, this Green Bay team led by the passing attack of Aaron Rodgers won’t miss a step Thursday afternoon. The Packers suffered two great loses to their defense last week, Al Harris and Aaron Kampman both done for the season with severe knee injuries. However, the Lions are no stranger to injuries as both Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson will be doubtful for Thursday’s game. The Lions are bad this year, but without their former first round draft picks playing, I don’t even see why they waste gas driving to the stadium.
The Packers are averaging 26 points per game while the lions are putting up 18ppg. The staggering stat that I need you to understand is: 391, this is the average number of yards that the Detroit Lions are allowing a game on defense; 283, how many yards the Green Bay Packers are allowing. If this stat doesn’t just scream from the rooftops, “BLOWOUT!” I’m not sure if my point is getting across. Look for this game to be over in the first half. Then the second half we can enjoy Thanksgiving with our families. And for all you Detroit fans, if the Lions can put a few consecutive years together without drafting a wide receiver in the first round, for instance maybe a LINEMAN! You might see the next decade change for your fortunes. Look for Rodgers to pass for over 250 yards, at least 70% of those yards will be in the first half. Grant will get the majority of his carries in the second half moving his total over 125 yards. Driver and Jennings should also bring the heat to the Lions secondary. If you have any Packers players on your fantasy team this week, it behooves you to start all of them this week. A very strong chance says the Baltimore Ravens will roll into Lambeau Field in week 12 facing a 7-4 Packers team.
