Attention to all Vikings fans. There is nothing to worry about the Vikings, Brett Favre, or Brad Childress. The Vikings are 11-3 after all. All doubts will be erased after the Vikings crush the Bears, a team that is in complete dire straits. Even though Chicago plays better in Soldier Field, this team is a mess.
But there is cause for concern. Brad Childress needs to realize that if his offense is having trouble with a strong front with excellent defensive ends, he needs to switch to a two tight end set. He doesn’t need to bench starters and throw the game. A running back can chip an end, a tight end can help out a tackle. I hope the coach is not so overconfident to think that his offensive tackles will never need help. The coach has not shown the ability to adjust on the fly.
As the Vikings proceed toward the playoffs, Childress will need to make adjustments because he will face teams with strong fronts. If adjustments are not made and new plays are explored, the Vikings will make an early exit against a strong Eagles, Cardinals, Cowboys or Giants teams depending upon who they play.
