Brett Favre stays retired

During the last few days, there has been conflicting information about the meeting with Brad Childress, Minnesota Vikings coach.  As of May 8th, the Vikings have released a statement that they will not sign Brett Favre.  Favre contacted Childress to let him know that he will stay retired.

It seems that this issue will still get headlines, and the media will be ready for any further developments.  In this case, neither parties have any leverage on the other so a media circus is not foreseen.

Hats off to Viking management for wanting to improve the team.  In my earlier Vikings team report, I stated that the Vikings would be looking into Sage Rosenfels or Brett Favre.  I honestly believe that the Vikings quarterback situation is better than last year with Rosenfels at quarterback.  Forget the meltdown in the Colts game, this guy can throw and move the ball.
