Brett Favre has finally spoken and will stay retired. In Minnesota, many fans thought he would be wearing the purple in 2009. After trying out his arm, Favre has told the Vikings that he feels his body would not stand up to another season. This news has given Viking fans relief, but now we are faced with two question marks.—Sage Rosenfels and Tavaris Jackson.
After watching Sage Rosenfels last year, I am convinced that he should be the number one quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings. Besides his one game meltdown against the Colts last year, Rosenfels looked better than Matt Schaub. At this point, Tavaris Jackson has shown absolutely nothing to prove that he is starting material. All we know so far is that Brad Childress is his number one fan and reached for him in the draft.
I think Michael Vick would be a better quarterback than Tavaris Jackson. The Minnesota Vikings should look into Vick for his services. The Vikes have cap room, and it would be an excellent choice. Obviously, Vick would have to behave since the Vikings have established new team rules since new ownership. The Vikings would be smart to look into Michael Vick, but would have to wait until week six for his services. The Vikings had room for Favre, why not put Vick in the role as a number 3 quarterback. My take: Sage Rosenfels, Tavaris Jackson, Michael Vick, John David Booty.
