The Minnesota Vikings fans caught a huge break with the demise of the Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas just last Sunday. The Vikings are in the driver’s seat with the second seed in the NFL playoffs. This means that the Vikings will be playing indoors for the entire playoff run. If the Vikings win and Saints lose, the next game is played in Minnesota. If the Vikings win and Saints win, the Vikings play in the Louisiana dome. The team will be indoors for the playoffs. The road would have been more difficult if the Eagles would have received the second seed.

Brad Childress has given the team the week off which is an excellent decision. By week 17, all the banged up players get to heal up for the next game with the one week bye.

Percy Harvin has won the award for top rookie offensive honors. The Vikings made a fantastic pick and it cannot be questioned now. Harvin was the 22 nd overall pick in the 2009 draft. His stats were: 60 receptions, 790 yards, 6 touchdowns. Also, he had 15 runs for 135 yards, and returned kickoffs for 1156 yards with two touchdowns.
