2009 Review:

Needless to say that the Buffalo Bills struggled during the 2009 NFL season and it was very evident on the field. They had battles at the quarterback position, at the start of the season Trent Edwards was the starter but he was riddled with injuries throughout the season making way for Ryan Fitzpatrick who had many difficulties himself. The Bills offensive line really struggled to protect anyone who went under center; the Bills had many weapons but just didn’t know how to use them. Fred Jackson made huge waves at the running back position as Marshawn Lynch found himself involved in off the field issues. At wide receiver it seemed that the Bills were ready to make a splash, but if you can’t get the weapons the ball it renders them ineffective and for the most part Terrell Owens, Josh Reed and Lee Evans found themselves just that ineffective. The Bills struggles led to the firing of their head coach Dick Jauron allowing Perry Fewell to become the interim coach for the remainder of the season. In the 2010 season the Bills are looking to improve on the 6 wins they accumulated in 2009.

2010 Preview:

This season looks to be no different than that of the 2009 season for the Bills, gone are weapons like Terrell Owens and Josh Reed and they still have not solved the riddle that is the quarterback position. This preseason they will have an open competition for the starting job with Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brian Brohm none of which have a tremendous wealth of NFL experience. The Bills did draft the highly touted running back out of Clemson C.J.Spiller, to not only have a solid set of young legs in the back field but to also be the return specialist that he was in college. The hiring of Chan Gailey as head coach left many scratching their heads and at the end of this season many still could be scratching their heads, it doesn’t seem as though the Bills improved and those results may show on the field.
