2009 Review:The Green Bay Packers were a good team in 2009, with the (Favre) shadow gone it was now Aaron Rodgers team and did he take advantage. Rodgers let it be known why the Packers placed all their hopes in his arm he was a solid starter for them throughout the season. The hurdle for the Packers was playing that guy Favre in Minnesota as they lost both games to the Vikings, which hurt their chances for a higher playoff seed. Bright spots for the Pack Ryan Grant at running back, can not only rush for big yardage but was a dominant receiving back for the Packers giving Rodgers another option out of the backfield. Greg Jennings proved to be the deep threat to spread the field and Donald Driver (who never ages) was the consistent man over the middle and all he did was make plays. On defense the rookie Clay Mathews really came into his own and fits in nicely in the defensive scheme. Charles Woodson had his best season, I think, in his time in the NFL, it was as though he was coming out of college again and the term shutdown corner found new meaning. The Packers in 2009 had a nice mix of offense and defense but as we know it only takes one or two breaks to help you or hurt you and the Pack was on the hurt side of that when they played Arizona in the Wild Card Game. If there are any holes they must fill for next season it will be at the wide receiver position they must get a solid number three receiver.
2010 Preview:If the Packers were in any other the division they may be the favorites but because they are in the division with Minnesota, this could be one of the toughest divisions in all of the NFL. The Packers must maintain the high intensity defense that they had shown last season in order to get back to the playoffs. Mathews and Woodson must have huge years again and Nick Collins must anchor that defense. Aaron Rodgers will be asked to have another mega season but he must have help, Greg Jennings must make more big plays and Ryan Grant will be asked to carry the load once again. The Packers have a great shot of making the playoffs once again and if they get there they have possibly the best chance at finding themselves as Super Bowl Champions.
2010 Prediction:Green Bay Packers: 12-4 (1st place in NFC North) playoffs
