2011 NFL Preview > Atlanta Falcons Preview2011 Atlanta Falcons Football Preview
Head Coach: Mike Smith 2010 Record: 13-3 (1st in NFC South) Playoffs: Lost in the divisional round to the Green Bay Packers (48-21) 2011 Free Agents ,Re-signings or Draft Choices: RB- Jason Snelling; DE- Ray Edwards; LB- Stephen Nicholas; LB- Mike Peterson; OT- Tyson Clabo; WR- Julio Jones; OG- Justin Blalock
2010 Review: For the Falcons this 2010 season was a long time coming, after going through the Michael Vick debacle and trying to get things back on track the Falcons finally broke through. With the emergence of the Atlanta offense the Falcons really made noise in the NFC South. Everyone expected the Saints to dominate but the Falcons behind the arm of Matt Ryan and the running of Michael Turner finished 1st in the South. The key to continue the winning ways is to sure up the defense as Green Bay really exploited the defenses weakness in the playoffs. Also a concern to address is finding a solid no. 2 wide receiver opposite of Roddy White if those things are addressed look for the Falcons to remain a strong contender.
2011 Preview: Things are looking really good in the ATL for the 2011 NFL season. With Matt Ryan coming into his own as a go to quarterback and the investment in Michael Turner paying off every season the Falcons are looking to stay on top in the South. The key to the offseason for the Falcons was to really sure up the defense and find a solid no. 2 wide out which they believe they did in the draft with Julio Jones out of Alabama. On the defensive side to sign Ray Edwards really brings a solid presence that prepares them to make a solid playoff run. The Falcons could be the favorite coming out of the NFC this year as they have all the keys in place to get to the Super Bowl.
2011 Prediction: 14-2 (1st place in NFC South)
