2011 Carolina Panthers Schedule

2010 Review:

In 2010 the Carolina Panthers were the worst team in the NFL, with the most dynamic running attack quiet possibly in the NFL. The quarterback carousel was in full effect once Jake Delhomme was sent out of town everyone thought the job was Matt Moores’ but injury and inconsistent play opened the door for Jimmy Clausen but inconsistency was the name of the game for the Panthers. With defenses focusing on the running game and keying in on Steve Smith it did not make for a successful season in Carolina. With many fans frustrated that marked the end of the John Fox era in Charlotte and now it is the Ron Rivera show and we will see if 2011 brings new hope in Carolina.

2011 Preview:

With the first pick in the NFL draft the Panthers select Cam Newton, quarterback…so begins the Newton era for the Panthers but will it be successful? Apparently with the shipping off of Matt Moore to Miami the Panthers seem to think the future is now and Newton will have the opportunity to impress on the field. The key this offseason was to sign DeAngelo Williams and sure up solid protection for Steve Smith so defenses do not key just on him. Chances are for this upcoming season it will be tough for the Panthers to turn it around especially in the NFC South where it seems as though they are looking up to the other teams in the division. You have to think with a new quarterback and a new coach there will be many growing pains in 2011 for Carolina.

2011 Prediction:

5-12 (4th place in NFC South)
